Learning From Our Youth (Text Messaging)
You’re probably not like me, that is, not real up on all this text messaging and "lol" stuff. I mean it is not what you see on the latest online training screens of Mike, or Ewen’s training online. And even though folks my age may not be able to understand how the kids can refer to this as free text messaging or exactly what is being said on the new fast finger exercise our youngsters are calling "texting" it seems it may be here to stay for a while.
The other day my 13 year old Grandson was wanting to text a message to my 14
year old Granddaughter. I knew we were entering an area where we would lose
phone service in just a matter of minutes so I mentioned that fact to my Grandson. To
my surprise, in the amount of time it took me to mention the problem area to
him, he had sent the message to its destination and by the time we had
re-entered service area, two miles, he had his reply. Since I knew the length
of the message, that we were wanting to relay, I knew he could not have typed
the complete message in the matter of seconds before losing signal, so I ask him
how he was able to send the message so quickly. He simply smiled and said, "it’s
texting, Pepa". Text messaging has a language all of its own. Text messaging, or "texting" is the common term for the sending of "short" (160 characters or fewer) text messages from mobile phones using the Short Message Service (SMS). Text Messaging is a fairly new phenomenon that has revolutionized how we use cell phones. I was fascinated by how quickly the message was relayed and replied to. More quickly than if we had placed a call and held a conversation to rely the message. And even quicker now is the Text messaging on a mobile with a keyboard. New technology always astound me and the ability of the youth, of today, to adapt to the new technology is even more astounding.
Text messaging has become a huge part of our lives, and it will be the first place law enforcement officers will turn to for clues in school crimes and other related incidents. My Grandson mention his friends using nicknames at school when they text back and forth. When I ask why they used nicknames he informed me it was in case one of them got caught texting when they were not suppose to, it would keep the rest of them from loosing their phones. Now, why didn’t I know that!
Text messaging has become so popular that advertising agencies and advertisers are now jumping into the text message business.
In May of 2005 we read where a company was working on new technology that promises to make text messaging easy. Text Messaging on Campus PageGate can be used by colleges and university to alert their faculty and students of urgent situations. Text messaging is fast, cheap and private.
Leave it up to the adults to learn how to interpret the whole mess and figure out a way to turn a free thing into a money maker. Now we have courses on text messaging safety, all about sending text messages and how to understand text lingo. Why don’t we just ask our Children? Doesn’t anyone talk to our kids today? Besides the Gang Members!
It makes one wonder, sometime, where to jump onto this wagon of never ending knowledge. Is it too late for Grandpa and Grandma to get in on this vast learning cycle? I am just now getting a pretty good handle on e-mail. And now I find that the junk mail has just about made email as unwanted as Beta Video Tapes. "Text" may be the way! Who Knows?
I am always excited when I see new stuff come on the market. I have seen near 60 years of constant changes take place in this United States. I have watched the
young folks lead in the use of the modern technologies in every generation. I’ve
seen the 45’s, LP albums, reel to reel, 8 track and cassette recorders and lately CDs, computers, mp-3s and I-pods. Blue something or another is on the tip of every youngster’s tongue, or should I say "tooth", and electronic games and TV screens or small enough to carry in a lunch sack or to fit in a wrist watch. No one knows for sure where this age of technology will end up, but we can be pretty sure a child will lead the way.
What an exciting time we are living in today. I can hardly wait to see what the next twenty years will bring.

A Tribute to Erich Winnecke
Hi, my name is Fonda Henson and I am the owner of
http://FYIBiz4U.com Your Work At Home Directory. I have worked several home based businesses, as sidelines, while working in HVAC and running a construction company from my home for 25+ years.
In one of my more recent side line companies I primarily deal in Air, Water and Health Purifiers as an independent distributor with
EcoQuest International a nice bonus for any contracting business. I have made some money and a lot of friends in this business and I will say this business has a lot of potential for those who love all day and late night phone calls with lots and lots of hard work. I have worked primarily in the retail end of that dealership and now I have found I should have been following the plan for sponsorship. I am getting older now and I find I don’t have the drive to do a lot of the retailing necessary to maintain a good income in that side of the business. However, I still love to hear the reports from my customers who say they are still enjoying clean air in their homes from the unit they purchased from me. A smile of satisfaction comes to my heart, as I know they will continue to enjoy fresh air and water for many years to come.
Living in a small, rural, mid-west area I found it easy to make friends but hard to place my units on a permanent basis. Although the need for my product was great, the income of the depressed area hampered the buying of the so called "luxury of clean air" that I was selling. I soon found myself seeing my fast growing retail business level off to a once in a while unit or two.
With that thought in mind I, once again, begin to look for alternatives to help subsidize my income. This time a little grayer (wiser) I wanted something that I could do from the comfort of my home without the need for inventory, which is not possible with the present business, and that would have a larger customer basis. Thus the world wide internet search and the beginning of a new career.
Being from the mid-west and seldom having a need to do much surfing on the famous "web" I was like my neighbor's calf looking at a new gate. Where did all of this come from and how do I get through it? I found, as you probably already know, there are many internet businesses online today and along with them are a host of scams and rip-offs. I had many reservations when I first started my search for just the right internet company but then, Thank God, I was introduced to the
Work-at-Home-Group. A group of Home Business entrepreneurs and other webmasters, headed up by Erich Winnecke.
Under the direction of Erich this group is dedicated to making sure that the Companies that are recommended on the
Work-at-Home-Group sites are legit, honest, trustworthy, and have a high yield of return on investment, making them a Top choice in anyone’s book.
It was through this group that I was introduced to the Work At Home Directory and was taught how to set up, maintain and market this Directory Website. The Work At Home Directory is a gathering place for many of the TOP Rated Home Based Businesses on the Internet Market today. All are researched and found to be some of the very best and most lucrative Businesses in the internet family. Many have gained high recognition as Fortune 500 companies and other marks of excellence in the world today.
As I soon learned, the world of the internet is a never ending and constant growing world today with no visible end in sight. Since most internet users are new to the cyber world and easily scammed, finding a legitimate Webmaster is a rare jewel. Erich is one such person. A Christian Man, not ashamed of calling himself a Christian man, in a world of uncertainty among so many, so called, God fearing people. I am happy to be associated with a man like this in a time when, would be home based computer entrepreneurs searching for the perfect home based businesses, could fall prey to so many heartless computer gurus. In this day and time there are so many that take advantage of the vast knowledge of the computer age and use it for a chance to steal from those who are not as versed on this little box as others.
I Thank God that there are still men like Erich that show they care enough about others to take the time to share their knowledge with so many to make this world, this computer world, a better place to live and work. Thanks Erich for all you do and may God Bless You continually.

Scams,
Scams, and More Scams
The World of Internet, Cyberspace, Cell Phones, and Pocket Size Computers is a world my Grandparents never seen, at least from this earth’s viewpoint. And as far fetched as it may seem right now to us we have not even touched the surface of the things to come in the next 80 years. With each generation come new things on the horizon, so we are told, but, to many like me, just learning a new keystroke on my desk top is an exciting adventure. Like the right click of the mouse and the cut, copy and paste, Wow! What a change from the typewriter eraser and the white-out. Is it better? I will have to admit, it is. Where will it be in 80 years from now? Only God knows. It does bring about some interesting thoughts though.
One such thought is: Why do we hear of so many people being scammed in this day and time? With all of the modern technologies and the knowledge that is available it would seem that everyone would know and recognize scams when they see or hear of them. But we all know this is not the case. Unfortunately, accompanied with every new thing that comes down the lines, hidden in the fine print, is the way to misuse it. And so it is with the new technologies.
It would seem that with the computer age bringing in the ability to make things better and faster that more of us old-timers would get on board. But for many it’s more like a scary movie that has no end. Modern computer calls, machines talking politics, taking your money, making change for you, and now we don’t even talk to a live teller at our local bank. Wow, what a change from 20 years ago. So why are so many getting scammed? Well it might be that with every new change comes a new way to corrupt the good. A preacher friend of mine once said, “That’s the devil’s business and he’s good at his job” and we all know what he’s talking about there.
For a long time I thought being scammed was just a battle between the very smart and the almost dumb, but some years ago I discovered that it is not like that at all. Although the answer goes back to the beginning of time it is seldom talked about among the, would be, rich people of this world. We find the answer in a five letter self defining word. The word I’m referring to is “GREED”. Oh, we hear the word used some around Christmas time to refer to the Ebenezer’s that will pinch pennies so tight that they will not even give their employee’s a well deserved Christmas Bonus; but that is not what I am referring to today.
The “Greed” I am referring to is bottled up in the heart of every man just waiting for a chance to stick his head out. If the truth were known it is probably the major cause of so many broken families and lives today. Of course most of the time it is only in the heart of the man or women you are talking to and never in your own heart. Right? Right!
Most Scammers and Cons have learned this about people a long time ago in “Scamming 101” or somewhere. Ha! Many people when given an opportunity, or what looks like an opportunity, to better themselves without costing them anything in return, will be interested in that opportunity, if it is presented in the right setting. Many get rich quick entrepreneurs, have thought they were being conned by the best cons out there, but the real culprit was the “Greed” on the inside of them sticking his ugly head out. The following story is one such scam that relies solely on the “GREED” of the victim. Notice as you read through this, if there is no “Greed” there is no scam.
The Story:
A man had placed an article for sale on an Internet Bulletin Board. It was a very expensive item and would require several US dollars for shipping. A response was soon received via e-mail and negotiations were then made with a final agreement as far as selling price. (Seller got his full asking price) All is well so far. The Seller is told by the Buyer that he (the buyer) is working for another buyer from another country (as a Representative) and would like to pay with a cashier’s check. Seller agrees. Buyer Representative then informs the Seller that the Buyer would be sending $4000 extra to cover the shipping, since it was out of country, and a $100 extra would be included for the Sellers inconveniences, but asked that the Seller make arrangements for transit of the item with a buyer selected shipping company. (Still sounds good, but with questions)(“GREED” sticks up it’s head) Seller sees a way to make an extra $100 on the deal and agrees to it. (The Buyer Rep is depending on that very thing happening) Buyer Representative arranges for a check to be sent UPS with directions that the Seller is to contact the Shipping Company upon receipt of the Cashier's check and arrange to send them a Western Union Money Transfer. (Instant Cash) (Wait a minute; a piece of paper for real money)
In just a few hours of the arrival of the Buyer’s check at the Seller’s Residence the Seller is contacted by the Shipping Company, via e-mail, stating that they are to pick up the item at the Seller’s home address, in keeping with the plan and the agreement. The shipping company then states that they can not do that until they receive the Money Transfer so the Buyer should go immediately to the Western Union Office and take care of that. Within 10 minutes of time the Buyer Representative contacts the Seller, via e-mail, to check on receipt of the Check and once again the Seller is told to go right-a-way to the Western Union Office to make the transfer of cash.
The Cashier’s Check has not even made it to the Seller’s bank as yet but the Buyer Rep. and the Shipping Co. is both waiting for the transfer.
Can you see the Scam developing here? Can you see the “Greed” sticking his head out? Now some would say that those buyers and shippers were the “Greedy” ones, making up a scam like that just to con this man. YES and NO. Yes they are eat up with “Greed” to a point where they no longer care about people but the “Greed” I am talking about is the “Greed” for the free money that was presented to the Seller for his inconveniences, the $100s free for his troubles. You see the “Greed” that most people fight comes from within and sneaks out so innocently leaving them open for some of the biggest scams on the market.
Fortunately this story turns out good. The Seller took the check to the bank and asked them to clear it before making any withdrawals on the amounts. The bank made a few phone calls and found that the check was drawn on an account that no longer existed and that the check was from a printing that had not been used for 3 years or so. It was indeed, Counterfeit. Had the Seller not gone to the bank first and asked the bank to run the check he would have been out $4000 to the shippers, who were probably the buyers too. The ironic thing is that moments after the last e-mail confrontation to the shippers the Shipper’s nor the buyer’s e-mails were any longer active. They disappeared from existence.
Of course you and I know that they will surface again because of “Greed”.
I guess the moral of the story is this. It is not necessarily the “Greed” of the Scammers and Cons that we must be alert to, but the old man, “Greed”, on the inside of us. I agree with one of the writers of the New Testament Bible who taught that we must crucify the old man daily. It is necessary to put down those times of temptations for easy money as it is usually a scam in the making.
One of a sure signs of a Scam in the making is when you are told you can have something without doing anything in return for it. For a scam to work, you must fall for it. “Greed” fuels a fire of the get rich quick scams and the only way it will keep burning is to keep refueling it. Get rid of the “Greed”, get rid of the fire, and you are not as likely to get burnt.
It is like this in any business. The Home Based Businesses is no exception to the rule. If you are promised a lot of stuff for nothing chances are, it may be a scam. There are many out there. Most are waiting for the right person to come along that has been feeding his “Greed” man and is now right for the picking. Remember if there is no “Greed” there is probably no scam.
God Himself has placed within every man and women the ability to know right from wrong and most of the time we will know in the pit of our stomach if something is not right. The writer of the book of Proverbs states that we should find wisdom, seek her and never let her go. Maybe this little bit of information that I have shared with you today will make you a litter wiser. I can only hope and pray that it does. If you are not sure about a certain company or product found on the internet, do your homework, look for certifications, look for good credentials and check past histories before making a final decision. Learn to follow that inner leading and you will probably never go wrong.
One thing is for certain, whether you are a seasoned internet entrepreneur or a beginner you should always guard against “GREED”.

WALKING THE LOVE WALK
Romans 12:17
"Recompense to no man evil for evil.
Provide things honest in the sight of all men".
There is an unwritten but widely understood code in human relations that says we should treat people the way they treat us. Jesus taught just the opposite [Luke 23:34], and Paul is reaffirming that same teaching. If we are to be Christ-like, then we cannot give people what they deserve.
Also, it is not enough to just be honest in the sight of God. This scripture commands us to have integrity in the sight of men. This corresponds to "abstaining from all appearance of evil" [1 Th. 5:22]. We need not only to be right, but we need to appear right as much as is possible.
Romans 12:18"If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men".
Walking the love walk involves practicing "longsuffering" or bearing the imperfections of others, and being at peace with them, even though they may not always be at peace toward you [Eph. 4:1-3].
Romans 12:19"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written. Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord".
Humanly speaking, our natural self does not like to yield right of way to the counsel of God's Word, especially when we're being mistreated. But walking the love walk is a choice of our will and not a feeling of our emotions and that is especially true when you've been slandered, or falsely accused in some way. But letting God defend us is a matter of our faith in God's Word. If there is no God who will bring men into account for their actions, then turning the other cheek would be the worst thing that we could do [Matt. 5:44]. But if there is a God who promised that vengeance is His, and He will repay, then taking matters into our own hands shows a lack of faith in God and His integrity.
Choose to put God and his Word first in your life and trust Him to bring you out on top. His way is the best way, and though you may suffer temporal discomfort, eventually God will bring his Word to pass in your life, and you'll be glad that you trusted Him, instead of taking matters into your own hands.

In the day that we are living we see constant changes in the work forces. Lay-offs, cut-backs and bankruptcy have ushered in the popularity of home based jobs and work at home businesses. We are now seeing more and more stay at home Moms, and now Dads that are getting involved in making money from home. With the latest advertisements on TV and radio about Work from Home and the more and more successful business entrepreneurs that are hitting the scene on the internet, it is no wonder that this business has become one of the highest sought after business’ in the world. Rightly so, we all love to have a job where we "love our boss". The work at home business’ allow for this and many other great benefits.
With the thousands of different home based business’ on the internet today it remains hard to choose just the right ones to fit our lifestyles, but they are out there. Among the low start-up companies one of the biggest performers today, that I have found, are the type at home style businesses. It seems that many of the stay-at-homers enjoy typing things on their computers, and jobs related to this type of work are a hit with just about any of these part time entrepreneurs.
Some of the companies requiring large start-up investments (over $200.) seem to be an attraction to the retired Doctor and Lawyer types that do not mind a larger initial outlay of cash. Once again there are many out there that are scams so be very cautious before investing any money up front. Almost any legit business will give you a free trial period or a money back time to see if it is something you really want to do. Also beware of buying something you can get for free, like information on SEO, Internet Traffic and etc; as there is a vast amount of information available on starting and maintaining your home based business through Site News Letters and the like.
That brings us to another Top Pick or Top Performer and that is the Match-Up services. These are very attractive because they offer to match you up personally to a business by picking 5 or so top businesses in your field of expertise or want. By answering a few questions and agreeing to a personal contact you are given 5 or so companies that best fit your expectations of a home based job. This takes a lot of the guesswork out of your search for the right home based business and saves a bundle of time on your part. Most of these are legit, and will not ask for any personal info (i.e. credit card numbers, bank account numbers, SS numbers and such like), but will merely put you in contact with a company of your choice and you take it from there.
A note of caution! When directed to a company, always look for a logo from the BBB, ICOP, or Certified Better Internet Bureau. You will find this some place on the site. Take the time and read the terms and agreements of each company thoroughly to make sure you agree completely with them before becoming involved with that Company or before sending any money to that company. Do your research and you will not be scammed!
